Vinícius Júnior could face severe disciplinary action after Brazilian company Tiberis Holding do Brasil filed a complaint with the investigatory chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee, requesting a ban that could last up to two years.
Vinicius is involved, through the company ALL Agenciamento Esportivo – run by his father and agent, Zacilo Soares – in the acquisition of several professional football clubs. A deal that could pose a potential conflict of interest, given that he is still an active footballer at Real Madrid.
Vinicius is suspected of having links to the ownership of Athletic Club de São João del Rei (Brazil, Serie B) and Alverca (Portugal, Serie B), which could violate FIFA and Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) rules.
This rule prohibits active players from owning shares in professional clubs due to the risk of conflicts of interest, such as influencing match results, player contracts, or tax issues.
The problem started with a dispute at Athletic Club, where a company linked to Vinicius (ALL) took over the club’s operations after shares were sold, overriding the rights of the Tiberis company (owned by Willy Francese) which owns 16.5% of the shares.
Tiberis took the case to the international arena, alleging violations of the FIFA Code of Ethics (Article 20) and the RFEF Disciplinary Code (Article 22). In addition, Vinicius is also linked to Alverca, where there has been a transfer of a player (Rafael Conceição) between the two clubs.
Potential penalties for Vinicius could be a fine, an order to sell club shares or the heaviest, a ban of up to 2 years. FIFA will investigate the possibility of a conflict of interest.
