Budding Ghanaian songstress, Xheila Acheampong has opened up about her challenges in the music industry.
In an interview with the press, Xheila shared her desire to be acknowledged for her own artistry, separate from her family’s legacy.
Xheila, who is a daughter of legendary Ghanaian musician Nana Acheampong, said: “I don’t talk about my dad during interviews because I want it to be about me and my music.”
She also aims to be recognised for her songwriting skills and what she has to offer in the music industry.
I want to be seen as that girl who writes deep but relatable lyrics,” she added.
In the meantime, Xheila has released a song titled ‘Papabi’, which explores the theme of exes reuniting in relationships.
Despite comparisons to her sister Gyakie, Xheila is determined to carve out her own identity in the Ghanaian music industry.
