Popular Kumawood actor, musician, and entrepreneur Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin has announced his ambition to contest the Afigya Kwabre North Constituency parliamentary seat as an independent candidate in the 2028 general elections.
Lilwin disclosed his intentions during the grand opening of his new barbering salon in Kumasi, speaking exclusively to Poleeno Multimedia.
He cited the inspiration drawn from entertainment personalities like John Dumelo, A Plus, Baba Sadiq, and Bibi Bright, who have successfully transitioned into politics. Lilwin expressed confidence in his ability to bring effective representation to his constituency, focusing on youth empowerment and development in Afigya Kwabre North.
Although he had considered running in the 2024 elections, Lilwin explained that personal and strategic factors influenced his decision to wait until 2028.
The entertainer declared his determination to challenge the incumbent MP, Collins Adomako-Mensah, criticizing the current leadership and pledging to deliver more inclusive and impactful representation for the constituency.
