To build a vibrant ecosystem that will support the development of skills among the youth, a Digital Youth Hub is being constructed at the University of Ghana for young tech entrepreneurs, the Minister of Finance Dr Mohammed Amin Adam has said.
This is to enable the young tech entrepreneurs to interact, collaborate and build sustainable technology-based businesses, he said.
The first phase of this project is expected to be completed in November 2024, Dr Amin Adam said.
“Looking ahead, we remain focused on building on this momentum. Let me assure you that we will stay the course and remain within the 2024 Appropriation,” he said during a press conference in Accra on Thursday August 29.
He added “Our medium-term outlook is optimistic, with projected improvements in GDP growth, inflation control, and fiscal health. The government’s dedication to social protection, structural reforms, and prudent public Finance management will continue to drive our efforts towards sustainable development.
“We are mindful of risks to the outlook including the impact of the dry spell on our farmers and on the economy. We have put in place an elaborate plan to ensure that we address this issue so as to minimise its impact on the people and on the economy.”
Regarding labor issues, the Finance Minister said that the government recognises that organised labour has kept faith with government.
“We appreciate the continuous goodwill we receive. As partners, we have through various forms of engagements and negotiations, managed to keep the labour front relatively calm and will continue to do so,” he said.
