The Member of Parliament for Offinso South Constituency, Hon. Isaac Yaw Opoku, has announced that the long-delayed road projects in Anyankaso, Ayensua, Abofour-Kyebi, Namong, Ampabame, and Amoawi are set to be completed by December.
During a site visit on Sunday, July 14, the MP acknowledged the difficulties faced by residents and motorists due to the deplorable condition of the roads. Despite past setbacks, he expressed confidence in the new contractor, who has already made significant progress since beginning work about two weeks ago.
“They started two weeks ago, they are doing massive excavation works and drainage facilities, and I’m very encouraged by the work that they’ve done. I’m very confident that they’ll be able to stick within the schedule, and by December, motorists will start experiencing the benefits,” he said.
The MP attributed the project delay to issues with the previous contractor and emerging developments along the corridor. However, he assured that the necessary processes are being followed to ensure the new contractor can continue work as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the President of Offinso Fan Flavor Co-Operative, Nana Alex Opoku, who spoke on behalf of residents and cocoa farmers, expressed relief at the MP’s visit and the announcement of a new contractor. He highlighted the suffering endured due to the poor state of the roads and expressed hope that the completion of the project will significantly improve their daily commute and overall quality of life.
