The pastor of Fountain Gate Chapel, Reverend Eastwood Anaba, has issued a strong warning against Christians prioritizing social media usage before Bible study.
According to Eastwood Anaba, social media has now dominated Christians making them deote majority of their time on the platforms rather than studying the Bible.
The clergyman emphasized that the consumption of certain trending issues on social media diverts Christians attention from God.
He said contents on social media have swayed Christians leading them to invest more time in ungodly acts than spending time to fortify themselves by reading the Bible.
Rev. Eastwood Anaba made these assertions while preaching to his congregation in a video posted on his X account.
“Social media has taken you away from your Bible. The number of times you read your Bible is less than the time you spend on Facebook and Instagram. Some of you stay on the thing [social media] from one to another. When was the last time you sat in front of the Word of God for even an hour?
“Today I’m calling a church to repentance. I’m calling a church and declaring that it is time for revival. It looks like we are too happy. It looks like there is no hell, and it looks like there is no heaven. But I came to announce to somebody that it is appointed unto man to die once and after that there is judgement. Judgement is coming, so you better get your life in order,” he said to his congregation during last Sunday’s service.
