The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has reiterated his assurance that the power outages will soon be over.
He first made the assurance when interacting with regional executives of the NPP in the Eastern Region on Monday, April 29 to start his nationwide campaign ahead of the 2024 general elections.
In a subsequent meeting with the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs the same day, he repeated the assurance, saying “We are aware of the recent power outages that have affected every Ghanaian and our local businesses and I assure you that we are leaving no stone unturned in resolving this issue.
“In fact, the information I have from the Ministry of Energy is that this issue will be resolved in the next few weeks completely, so let us hope that we get it done.”
Meanwhile, the Vice President of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs, Nana Akuamoah Boateng, used the occasion to urge all Ghanaians to act in ways to maintain the peace and unity of the country as Ghana heads to the next general elections on December 7, 2024.
He urged the people to embrace tolerance and respect for each other’s views.
“As we approach the upcoming general elections, I urge all Ghanaians to embrace tolerance and respect for each other’s views. Let us maintain the peace and stability of our nation currently. Let us refrain from divisive rhetorics and actions that could undermine our progress as a people,” he said.
