Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reiterated the importance of Thomas Partey to the team and highlighted how they missed his services during his injury absence.
The 30-year-old midfielder suffered a muscle injury in October but recently returned to full fitness. Since his comeback, Partey has showcased remarkable performances, contributing significantly to Arsenal’s pursuit of the title.
Given his outstanding display in Arsenal’s 5-0 win over Chelsea, Partey was entrusted with a starting role against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. His presence proved crucial as the Gunners secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory in the North London derby, further intensifying their title aspirations.
“He’s a really important player and we have missed him for many months. He looks in great shape,” said Arteta as quoted by Fabrizio Romano
“It’s his presence, his quality, his physicality and his experience”.
Arsenal maintain their position at the top of the table with 80 points, just one point ahead of reigning champions Manchester City, who still have a game in hand.
