The Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr Richard Ahiagbah said he suspects sabotage in the train accident that occurred on the Tema-Mpakadan railway line on Thursday 18th April 2024.
He says the government will not be deterred by this act but will rather continue on its quest to revive and leverage rail transport to advance our development.
“The obstruction of the unmanned truck on the Tema-Mpakadan railway to derail the Site Acceptance Test of the Diesel Multiple Unit train smells of sabotage. However, we shall not be deterred and will persevere with the unwavering support of the Ghanaian people.
“Kudos to Hon. John Peter Amewu and the team for their relentless efforts in driving the vision of President Akufo-Addo & Dr Bawumia to revive and leverage rail transport to advance our development,” he wrote on his X platform.
The Ministry of Railways Development confirmed the collision of a new DMU train with a stationary vehicle on the Tema Railway line during a site acceptance test.
