Former Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi’s hope of becoming a legislator has hit a snag as he failed woefully in the attempt.
He garnered a paltry 35 votes after close to 1,081 delegates had cast their votes in the parliamentary primary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) held in the Ejisu Constituency on April 13.
Despite overcoming an initial detention at the hospital on Friday night to make it to the voting centre, Mr Nyantakyi’s number of votes obtained puts him in 5th place on the final results sheet with the 2nd Deputy Constituency Chairman of the party garnering 393 votes out of the total votes cast.
Lawyer Kwabena Boateng’s closest contender was Helena Mensah.
