The late Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu in the Ashanti Region, Dr John Ampontuah Kumah, will be laid to rest on Saturday, May 18, with the final funeral rites following on Sunday, May 19.
This announcement follows a one-week observance held in Ejisu on Thursday, attended by family, dignitaries including Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and sympathisers, who gathered to mourn Dr Kumah’s passing.
During the solemn event, mourners, including his constituents, dressed in red and black attires as a symbol of their grief and loss. They fondly remembered Kumah as a dedicated public servant known for his hard work and integrity.
At 45 years old, the lawmaker passed away earlier this month after a brief illness, leaving behind a wife and six children.
Affectionately known as Lawyer John Kumah, he was admired for his commitment to job creation and was regarded as a beacon of hope in his community, inspiring both the young and old alike.
