Offinso Maase R/C Primary School, nestled in the heart of the Offinso Municipality within the Ashanti Region, recently commemorated its remarkable 104-year anniversary with a grand celebration.
The event witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, including the Municipal Education Director, the Municipal Chief Executive, and esteemed traditional leaders, who joined in honoring the school’s longstanding legacy.
Madam Gladys Kwakye, the Municipal Education Director, conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the teachers, circuit supervisors, parents, and all supporters who have contributed to the school’s journey over the decades.
The Headmistress, Madam Dorothy Asante, took the opportunity to reflect on her accomplishments since assuming office in 2021. She also outlined ambitious plans aimed at further elevating the school’s educational standards to greater heights.
“I have improved a lot of things since I assumed office in the school, and it is my prayer to continue and do even more” she added.
However, amidst the celebration, Madam Asante also shed light on the challenges confronting the institution. These challenges include the urgent need for fencing the school, inadequate water supply, low attendance on Fridays, and substandard infrastructure. She made a passionate appeal for assistance in addressing these critical issues.
Abdul Majid, representing the Municipal Chief Executive, assured of concerted efforts in collaboration with the Municipal Director of Education to tackle the school’s challenges effectively. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of parental guidance, particularly in safeguarding children against negative influences from social media.
The anniversary celebration not only marked a significant milestone in the history of Offinso Maase R/C Primary School but also served as a platform to acknowledge achievements, recognize challenges, and renew commitments towards ensuring quality education for all.
