The Ministry of Health (MoH) is cautioning the general public to ignore the statement-making rounds in the media indicating that the ministry is recruiting general nursing applicants.
A statement from the Public Relations Unit of MoH dated Monday, March 11, stated that it has not made any such public announcement, entreating the public to ignore the viral notice dated March 10, 2024.
The Ministry said: “It has come to the notice of the Ministry of Health (MoH) that there is a public announcement dated 10th March, 2024 in the mass media (print, electronic and new) about recruitment of general nurses by the Ministry.
“We wish to state categorically that the Ministry did not make the public announcement in reference and should, therefore, be ignored.
“The general public is entreated to take note that the Ministry does not charge any fees for the recruitment and posting of health workers,” the statement added.
The statement further urged prospective applicants to refrain from making any payments to “individuals or groups” regarding the recruitment notice.
Furthermore, the Ministry emphasised that it has made “significant progress in the process of recruiting more general nurses and other health workers into the health sector.”
