Parent company for Facebook and Instagram, Meta has restored user accessibility after its outage experienced worldwide on its social media platforms.
On Tuesday, March 5, Facebook and Instagram users were booted out of their system and could not log in back into their accounts.
According to Meta’s website, there are more than 300,000 reports of outages for Facebook and about 40,000 reports for Instagram.
Within an hour later, Facebook posted on its official account saying “And we are back. So sorry for those who were unable to access Facebook earlier today.”
The outage is now amongst the top trends on X, formerly Twitter, with several users saying they had suddenly been logged out of the Meta-owned social media platforms.
Meta’s Spokesperson, Andy Stone responding to the matter in a tweet said “we’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now.”
Meanwhile, the founder, chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SpaceX, Elon Musk has reacted to the outage of Meta’s Facebook and Instagram.
Reacting to the development, Elon Musk posted on X a cartoon photo of three penguins tagged with the logos of Meta’s Instagram, Facebook and Thread saluting another penguin tagged with an X logo.
