The Minister for Finance Dr Mohammed Amin Adam has paid a courtesy call on Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace.
“The main purpose of the visit is to seek your wise counsel support and blessings,” the Minister said.
He also inspected the Komfo Anokye Maternity Project. He also visited the Asante Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah as part of his working day tour of the Region.
Dr Amin Adam used the opportunity to commend the Regional Minister for his strong advocacy for more development projects in the region.
He underscored the importance of the region in the development of the country stating that Kumasi is the commercial hub where people from all over the country visit to do business.

According to the Finance Minister, the government has implemented a number of projects scattered across to serve the people of the Ashanti Region.
Paramount among them were the Kejetia Market and Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital projects which were all at various levels of construction with contractors assiduously working on them.
“We have faced some challenges that have affected the schedule for completion of these projects but we will continue to thank you especially for your support and patience for this government, “ he said.
The finance minister said that his visit in the region forms part of a broader strategy to have a first-hand view of government projects.
