In an exclusive interview with 3 Music TV, well-known Ghanaian media personality Nana Aba Anamoah talked about a big and private period of her life.
Anamoah discussed her sacrifices for her child’s welfare in an honest manner during the interview. Did I give up on school? she admitted. Sure enough, I did. I never would have said that previously, but I was accepted to medical school for a whole year. Remember, I was a science major too, so I had to let go of my desire to go to medical school.”
In light of her father’s expectations for her, the choice to drop out of medical school was not without its difficulties.
“My dad wished for me to become a doctor. I had no desire to be. My dad believed I would make an excellent doctor. He was using me as a conduit for his life. She said, “I believe he wanted to be a doctor and realized that his daughter would become one when he realized he couldn’t make it.”
“It would have been a disaster, and it came at the right time,” she said. It’s interesting, she said, that her father was understanding despite his original expectations. “For my father, he was not bothered because we were very close,” she said.
