Following the conclusion of the NPP parliamentary primaries last Saturday, Mr. Richard Osei Bamfo, popularly known as Nana Bamfo, is facing demands from Manhyia North NPP constituency delegates for clarity amidst allegations of seeking a refund from them after his election loss.
Delegates from Mahyia North convened a press conference to address the situation, asserting that the primaries were peaceful, free, and fair. However, concerns arose when one of Nana Bamfo’s followers, Nana Poku, claimed that the candidate was demanding a refund from the delegates for voting against him.
The Krofrom East polling station executives, speaking on behalf of the delegates during the media briefing, revealed that Nana Poku informed them that the delegates had been taken to the Antoa deity. Allegedly, Antoa had given a three-day ultimatum, expiring on February 2, 2024, for voting against Mr. Richard.
The delegates emphasized their desire for Nana Bamfo to publicly acknowledge whether he provided money for them to vote in his favor and if he was now seeking its return due to the unfavorable outcome. They expressed skepticism about such claims, highlighting the peaceful nature of the primaries.
To address the allegations and clear the air, the delegates have given Nana Bamfo until tomorrow, 12 pm, to appear before them or issue a statement refuting the accusations.
