In a relentless pursuit of a sanitized and hygienic environment, the Dormaa Traditional Council, led by Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, the Omanhene of Dormaa Traditional Council, has declared strict measures against those who violate the established cleanliness laws in Dormaa Ahenkro and its surrounding communities.
Under the leadership of Osagyefo Dr. Nana Agyemang Badu II, the traditional council has been proactive in organizing communal labor across the jurisdiction, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness to prevent health issues arising from unhygienic conditions. Various initiatives, including the placement of dustbins in strategic locations, have been implemented to encourage proper waste disposal.
Despite these efforts, some individuals have misused the provided dustbins, dumping household refuse and even resorting to defecating in polythene bags left in the bins. In response to this misconduct, Nana Ansu Gyeabour, Ahenenanaa Adontenhene of Dormaa Traditional Council, responsible for coordinating communal activities, issued a stern warning.
Nana Ansu Gyeabour emphasized the commitment of the traditional council to uphold Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II’s vision of making Dormaa one of the cleanest cities in Ghana. He expressed dissatisfaction with individuals hindering this vision and announced the formation of a monitoring task force. This task force will vigilantly oversee the proper use of dustbins, particularly during the night and dawn, with the intention of apprehending offenders.
Those found violating the ordinances set by Nananom will face legal consequences, as Nana Ansu Gyeabour stressed that offenders would be brought before the law court to ensure justice is served. This strict approach aims to deter others from flouting established cleanliness laws and safeguard the community’s commitment to a clean and healthy living environment.
