Founder of Independent Election Security and Compliance Watchers, Dr. Richard Kumadoe, has raised an alarm about the escalating threat to national security and stability posed by national elections globally, particularly in West Africa.
In an exclusive interview on the Fish FM morning show, Mr. Kumadoe stressed the need for vigilance as the 2024 national elections approach.
He called upon electoral commissioners and duty bearers to discharge their responsibilities promptly and diligently, urging political parties to fulfill their duties with purposefulness. Mr. Kumadoe also underscored the importance of law enforcement agencies acting rightly to promote peace and ensure law and order is maintained at all times.
During the interview, Mr. Kumadoe disclosed some of the plans laid down by his foundation. He emphasized the importance of voters behaving responsibly by following voting procedures and processes when casting their votes for their respective political parties.
Addressing solutions for election management and security, Mr. Kumadoe highlighted the necessity for electoral observers to be firm and active in the discharge of their observatory duties. He also called for media personnel to remain objective, present factual information, and maintain a high level of professionalism without fail.
