Communications Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has clinched the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidacy for the Ablekuma West parliamentary seat for the fourth consecutive time. The victory was confirmed after her success in the NPP parliamentary primaries held on Saturday, January 27.
Ursula Owusu emerged triumphant, securing 817 votes, which accounted for an impressive 77.22% of the total votes cast. Meanwhile, her contender, Roni Kwesi Nicol, garnered 241 votes, representing 22.78% of the overall votes.
A seasoned politician, Ursula Owusu has consistently represented the Ablekuma West Constituency in Parliament for three terms, starting as the first MP for the area when it was established for the 2012 general elections. Her latest win in the NPP primaries solidifies her position to contest in the upcoming 2024 general elections, continuing her unmatched record of defeating all contenders in both the 2016 and 2020 general elections.”
