In a resounding victory, Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, has successfully retained the Ayawaso Central candidacy after securing 594 valid votes in the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Primary held on Saturday, January 27. This marks Quartey’s fourth consecutive win, solidifying his position as the party’s choice for the constituency.
Quartey’s competitor, Moses Abor, former Greater Accra Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party, trailed behind with 326 votes. The constituency recorded four rejected votes.
Before the election, Quartey expressed confidence in his victory, stating, “I am here to win. Nobody has told me that they are tired of me.” He thanked both God and the Party for the support and emphasized the importance of unity within the party post-election.
On the other hand, Moses Abor, while aspiring to topple Quartey, highlighted his achievements over the years and presented himself as the people’s choice. Despite his optimism, Quartey’s widespread support and the trust placed in him by the voters secured his continuous representation of Ayawaso Central in the upcoming elections.”
